Finnish-Nepalese Society Hosted Summer Picnic 2023

The Finnish-Nepalese Society organized a vibrant summer picnic on Saturday, 22nd July 2023, at Mustapuro in Mellunmäki, Helsinki. The event, held annually for nearly two decades, drew around 350 attendees, celebrating cultural diversity and forging new connections.

The potluck-style picnic began at 4:00 PM and offered an array of Nepalese dishes, highlighting the rich culinary heritage of the community. The admission was free, emphasizing inclusivity and community spirit.

Music played a central role in the festivities, blending Nepalese folk tunes, creating a joyous ambiance that resonated with the crowd. Games added to the excitement, with participants of all ages showcasing their skills and competing for prizes generously sponsored by Hom Bahadur Kandel and Suman Aryal, esteemed members of the Finnish-Nepalese community.

The event received appreciation from attendees, who expressed gratitude for the opportunity to connect with different people and build friendships. The Finnish-Nepalese Society thanked all participants, volunteers, and sponsors for contributing to the picnic’s success and pledged to continue promoting cultural harmony in future events.

The Finnish-Nepalese Society, a non-profit organization, seeks to foster cultural exchange and understanding between Finland and Nepal. Through various activities, the society aims to bring people together and create a sense of unity and appreciation for diverse cultures.
